Description

The Beatles - Abbey Road - 1969 UK 1ST PRESS PCS 7088 - No “Her Magesty” credits.

Beautiful early version of this classic album. UK first pressing with the corrected alignment of the apple on the rear cover but still missing ‘Her Majesty’ credit after ‘The End’. The vinyl is housed in it’s original white paper sleeve. Now I have to confess not to be the original owner of this record. I became the current keeper at a guess some 40 years ago. It’s time to move this iconic album to a new guardian. She plays brilliantly. Obviously she’s used and has a few crackle spots in between a couple of tracks on both sides. Track 2, side 2 starts with a few clicks. Certainly no jumps or skips or anything else that would hinder the enjoyment of listening.

"An E.M.I. Recording" Mfd. in U.K.

This version is the "first label, revised cover" version:

Dark green labels with a whole apple on the A-side label and a half, sliced-open apple on B-side. The labels have the "(An E.M.I. Recording)" text on two lines and small "33 1/3" text moved to the left side. Publishing year printed with a small © symbol. The B-side label does not have "Her Majesty" credits. The labels are quite dark, although the actual shade of green varies between copies.

Comes in a full laminated cover without flaps on the back side. The front cover has the drain showing, the rear cover has the Apple logo aligned with the text, and 'Her Majesty' is not listed.

The small print…

Record grading:

Near Mint (NM) - The record has been on a shelf between other records. The vinyl looks glossy and clearly has only been

played a few times. There are no marks on the vinyl and the whole package is complete.

Excellent (E) - Same but I'd tolerate very light marks where the vinyl has been in and out of the inner sleeve a few times, or tiny signs of use generally.

Very Good Plus (VG+) - A few further faults are acceptable, but nothing that really compromises the record visually or audibly. A little rub, light inaudible marks, a little background crackle.

Very Good (VG) - It's seen a bit of life, but is still usable. Light pops and clicks, an edge split, light visible scratches. You can still listen to it and enjoy looking at it, but it is visually and audibly USED.
