Description
- Album Background
Abbey Road is the eleventh studio album by English rock band The Beatles. It was first released on 26 September 1969 in the United Kingdom by Apple Records and on 1 October 1969 in the United States by Capitol Records. The recording sessions for the album were the last in which all four Beatles participated. Although Let It Be was the final album that the band completed before the band's dissolution in April 1970, most of the album had been recorded prior to the Abbey Road sessions began.
This Particular Album History
I purchased this album in 1969 when first released, and played it constantly so can account for every blemish. This particular copy is not the mis-aligned Apple logo one and does not include a reference to "Her Majesty" on the album cover or the record label. Additionally it has a smaller sound recording copyright symbol (a circled capital letter P) on the label, and the zebra-crossing image on the front cover shows the drain cover between John and Ringo's feet, which again is believed to prove authenticity.
I have listened to the album and provided notes below for each of the tracks. Octopus's Garden jumps in 2 places and I can only put that down to the fact that I would constantly skip it, as it was my least favourite track back then and still is!
