The Beatles Abbey Road 1969 Vinyl LP - misaligned Apple and no Her Maj. 1st pressing
Matrix numbers
A- YEX 749-2
B - YEX 750-1
This first press has variations on the sleeve. The apple logo IS misaligned with the rest of the text AND Her Majesty is also missing from the sleeve and vinyl label. On front cover photo is somewhat larger than usual sleeve. The picture shows less of the trees and crosswalk (upper and bottom right).
Sleeve has narrow spines which are in good condition
I have played the record and it sounds great in the main all round!
Amazing how bright these old vinyls sound for their age - just like the sixties stereo pressings should be. Amazing stereo reproduction!!!
The run ins are pretty quiet just faint crackling;
There are hairlines that do not effect play
Not much of the wear impacts sound except:
…side 1 very slightly at the start of Something and right at the death of I want you slight jumps
…side 2: heavier crackling at start of you never give me your money…the rest is superb …still a very worthy item and listen!
Hence just a VG grading for the vinyl rather than VG+ which the majority is
The sleeve is VG: shiny, a little bit of age related cracking and worn as you’d expect, totally intact
There are some pen groove marks visible on front cover where somebody had once written something and rubbed it off
Has original white inner sleeve (there is debate as to which indicates an earlier release , black inners or white inners …)
