Here we have an exceptional, highly
collectible 1st UK pressing of The Beatles'
Abbey Road LP. Released on 26th September 1969, this specific combination of matrix numbers, mother/stamper codes, and the misaligned sleeve represents the absolute earliest batch to leave the EMI pressing.
The detailed breakdown of this record's components reveals its authenticity and historical context:1. The Matrix Numbers (YEX 749 - 2 & YEX 750 - 1)
These numbers indicate the exact master lacquers used to press the vinyl.YEX 749 - 2 (Side 1): This is the very first successful lacquer cut used for production. (Lacquer -1 was either damaged or deemed sonically unfit for production, making -2 the definitive 1st press origin).YEX 750 - 1 (Side 2): This is the absolute first lacquer cut made for Side 2.
The Mother and Stamper Codes

Side 1 (1 / MOP):
Made from Mother 1. The letters M O P translate to 4, 5, 6, making this Stamper number 456.
Side 2 (1 / AAH): Made from Mother 1. The letters A A H translate to 3, 3, 7, making this Stamper number 337.
The Misaligned Apple Sleeve features the "Left-Shifted" or "Misaligned" Apple logo on the reverse side.
On the earliest Garrod & Lofthouse laminated sleeves, the green apple logo on the back cover is shifted slightly to the left, sitting directly under the Side 1 tracklisting rather than aligning perfectly with the text box. This layout error was quickly corrected for subsequent batches, making your version highly desirable.
True 1st Variant: The track "Her Majesty" is completely omitted from both the album sleeve and the record label (though it still plays on the vinyl).
The album is a fine example for someone who wants to add to their Beatles collection.
The condition through out is excellent.
The record labels are in a stunning condition with no marks or writing on them & no spindle marks.
The Sleeve its self does have a little ring wear to the front cover but there are no splits or tears front & back also no writing.
The vinyl has still got a remarkable sheen to its surfaces with the odd small hairline marks near the mother stamper on side 1, this can be seen in the photos.
The playback quality is excellent, very clean & crisp & has retained its high frequency & clarity.
There are definitely no skips or jumps.
The inner black sleeve is in excellent condition largely down to the fact that the vinyl has never been stored in it.
I have always kept the vinyl in a poly shaped liner.
