"Bloodstain" Front Cover & Misaligned Rear Apple Variant
Up for sale is a genuine October 1969 first pressing of
The Beatles' masterpiece 'Abbey Road', manufactured in Australia by EMI (Australia) Limited.
This specific copy features the rarest combination of first-press identifiers, making it a highly collectible piece of Australian music history.
KEY FIRST PRESSING IDENTIFIERS: THE "BLOODSTAIN" MISPRINT: The front cover features the infamous uncorrected pink/red ink blotch on the crosswalk pavement between John and Ringo. This printing error was corrected almost immediately by EMI after production began.
MISALIGNED REAR APPLE: The Apple Records logo on the back cover is misaligned to the left, sitting away from the tracklist text block.
HER MAJESTY" OMITTED: The track is completely omitted from the printed tracklist on both the back cover and the Side 2 Apple paper label.
YEX 749-2 MATRIX: Machine-stamped matrix code YEX 749-2 is clearly visible in the Side 1 runout wax, confirming the earliest initial lacquer cut
Great condition aside from some minor surface scratches that has no negative impact on the sound quality
