Description
The Beatles, Abbey Road LP - 1978 (I think; you can research the date to make sure; pretty positive) EALF-97001 Pro-Use Series album - no obi strip:
For many audiophiles, the original -1 -1 UK pressing is the standard in audio quality for this record. In most opinions, this record is comparable; sometimes favored in terms of sound quality, dynamics, etc. Also, it's usually a lot easier to find in great condition because Japan pressings are usually handled with extreme care and this particular pressing is 9 years newer than an original 1969 pressing of Abbey Road.
The sound quality of this record is incredible. The vinyl is extremely quiet, the bass is very present, and it's an absolute pleasure to listen to. If you search the internet, you'll find this copy to be highly coveted by collectors and audiophiles.
The only drawback: no obi strip. The insert is included, but there is no obi. However, if you want an Abbey Road copy to listen to over and over again, it doesn't get better than this.
Skip modern, digital reissues and give old school analog a try. If you collect vinyl records, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Cover: great shape, has a little bit of wear along the edges and a sticker (that could easily be removed) in the upper right hand corner. Insert: perfect condition
Vinyl: I'm not professional grader, but it's an easy NM (refer to the pictures)
Audio: I'm the pickiest person in the world when it comes to the silence of my records. The only record I have that is quieter than this pressing is a 1970s reissue that I bought sealed. It's a NM-, simply because it isn't absolutely 100% silent 100% of the time. You may here a faint crackle between a few tracks. But this is just me being 100% honest.
I'm only selling this copy because I have several Abbey Road records and am trying to limit each Beatles album I have to 3 or so. If this had the obi strip, I'd keep it. I'm one of those people. But to simply listen to, it's pretty stunning.
