Description
1st pressing of Abbey Road on the UK Apple label from 1969. Matrix -1/-2. Stampers 5-ALP/6-OAP. On the record labels the track 'The End' shows no mention of 'Her Majesty' - as all subsequent reissues do. Please note this 1st pressing comes housed in the very first edition sleeve with the Apple Logo misaligned on the rear. Includes original white inner sleeve (with cut corners). Not only is this the real deal, but it is a fantastically well preserved specimen to boot. 100% original & 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) Well, someone's looked after this copy! The labels suggest it has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can see a couple of light marks on either side - but nothing troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with barely any interference at all. This is particularly important on Abbey Road as a lot of the tracks are low-key and background interference will stand out like a sore thumb! Not here though, the audio on offer here is that lush full frequency presentation you only find on the very earliest copies. An absolute corker .....The only deviation i could hear was in 'Come Together' where there are a few light crackles audible - other than that there was very little else even remotely noticeable. This LP really does play back to a very high standard.
Cover (Ex) Again, this copy has been very carefully looked after. It's shiny front and back with only a few light creases visible. Overall the cover still retains very good rigidity and the spine is 100% intact. I imagine it would be quite difficult finding a better preserved misaligned copy than this one...
Inner (Ex) No spits, just light wear commensurate with age.
