The Beatles Abbey Road An Audiophile MFSL Album MFSL: 1-023 on Capitol Records
A Limited Edition Original Master Recording from Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab. Dramatically improved sonic clarity was achieved using half-speed mastering process. This allowed twice as much time for the master disc cutting system to capture every detail, every nuance of sound from the original master tape (never second or third generation) as it accurately inscribed the groove. The pressings are made on a material known as Super Vinyl, a high quality vinyl that gives you an ultra quiet playing surface. It’s heavier and harder than ordinary vinyl, offering a lifespan at least four to five times longer than a conventional vinyl LP. To retain absolute quality control, each Original Master Recording was created as a Limited Edition, giving you the assurance that the last pressing matched the quality of the first. Each LP is protected by a specially constructed heavy-duty album jacket supported by a rigid cardboard stiffener. To help eliminate dust, a unique static-free “rice paper” inner sleeve protects the disc.
The album cover has gained a few abrasion marks over the years. There a small split in the cover 15mm long at the top right corner. The inner sleeves are in good condition, and the LP itself is in excellent condition. I have played this album again before listing it for sale and it still sounds fabulous. There is a small amount of 'crackle' leading into the intro. of Here Comes The Sun. I have the remastered mono collection on CD now, and am happy to listen to those.
