Before listing this copy for an auction, we thoroughly studied the statistics and came to the conclusion that this cover variation of The Beatles “Abbey Road” album is rarer than the version indicating the “Her Majesty” track on the back. The original 1st US pressing copy listed for an auction has the rarest and 1st cover variation with an uncropped part of a square metal street access lid at the bottom edge of the front cover in the crosswalk stripe below where John's rear foot is and without the “Her Majesty” track listed on the back. The cover has a very rare correctly calibrated green hue, analogous to the 1st UK pressing cover printed by Garrod and Lofthouse International Ltd. We’re almost sure that the cover of this copy was printed by the legendary New York-based Queens Litho. This very early print covers were shipped to the Capitol Records pressing plant in Scranton, PA and are quite different from their West Coast counterparts printed by The Bert-Co Enterprises printing company located in Los Angeles, California, which had several variations of the reddish tint. This copy remains in a superb vintage Mint factory sealed condition and contains a record store price sticker with the “$6.98” price which fully corresponds to the manufacturer’s recommended price in 1969 for the record having the “SO-“suffix catalog number.
