Description
You are bidding on an original UK pressing of The Beatles 'Abbey Road' LP from 1969.
This is a Stereo pressing with the following Matrix info:
Side 1: YEX 749-2
Side 2: YEX 750-1
There is a also a very faint '5' in the deadwax on Side 1 along with 'OAR'. On Side 2 there is a '3' and 'APO'.
I believe this makes it the first pressing in the UK. It has no reference to 'Her Majesty' on the rear of the sleeve.
The vinyl is in VG to VG+ condition. The vinyl certainly shows plenty of hairlines on both sides when held up to bright light. The run-ins on both sides have a few crackles and then there are subsequent crackles here and there throughout but nothing distracting.
The sound is sublime - deep and clear. It certainly blows my 'Blue Box' copy out of the water!
The inner sleeve is plain white and is a little grubby but intact.
The labels are clean but have a name written on both sides as can be seen on the picture.
The outer sleeve is overall VG but has a larger crease in the bottom left hand corner and the bottom right hand spine has an inch and a half tear along the spine itself.
There is also a name written inside the opening itself.
I have been incredibly critical and honest here so as not to disappoint but it really is a nice copy that plays pretty well.
