BEATLES FOR SALE 1ST 4N/4N EX/EX 1964 MONO PARLOPHONE PMC 1240
First UK mono pressing on yellow and black Parlophone label PMC 1240. Labels include 'Sold In UK...' text.
Matrices:
Side 1 - XEX 503 -4N
Side 2 - XEX 503 -4N
Stamper Codes:
Side 1 - G - AG
Side 2 - G - GA
Housed in original laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold tri-flipback, with original Emitex inner.
Gradings:
Labels: EX - Vibrant and clean, no marks or age wear, just a little spindle wear around the centre hole, visible only under bright light.
Vinyl: EX - Other than a few slight clicks and pops between tracks, this still sounds clean, fresh and punchy from start to finish. No jumps, skips or scratches. I would estimate this copy has only been played a few times. As you can see from the pics, the vinyl still retains a fantastic glossy sheen, looks wonderful.
Cover: VG - The gatefold cover's laminate still shines, the front and rear covers are still vibrant. All flipbacks are still firmly in place. Just some standard shelfwear around the edges and corners of the cover. Slight wearing on left of inside cover. Spine is still in great condition and title is clearly legible, just slight pinch marks at top and bottom.
Inner: VG+ - The original Emitex inner is in very good condition, no rips, tears or discolouration. Just some creasing in each corner where the vinyl has previously sat. Please note that the record will be housed in a new plastic inner so as to preserve the original Emitex inner.
This copy would be difficult and expensive to upgrade.
