Description
Very first mono press of Beatles For Sale
The matrix numbers on this copy are XEX 503-3N and XEX 504-3N.
The perimeter text starts The Parlophone Co Ltd, there is Sold in U.K. subject… text below the yellow Parlophone and at 9 o’clock on the label it states Recording first published 1964 – on second presses the perimeter text reads All Rights Of The Producer, the Sold in U.K. subject… text is not there and at 9 o’clock on the label it just reads p 1964
The notoriously flimsy sleeve is in very good condition - there is some laminate creasing, light ringwear and some shelfwear mainly along the edges/corners. The opening inside the gatefold, which you usually find to be in a bad way, is in surprisingly good shape (see pictures).
The emitex inner has a little discolouration and creases but no splits or writing.
Visually the record still has a lovely shine with only the light sleeve removal marks you'd expect for a record of this age. The last time I played it, which was some time ago, I noted that it played very well with only some feint crackle here and there. A good clean may be in order.
UK only please - will be sent in record mailer with stiffeners.
