Description
Beatles contract pressing singles are perhaps not at the top of every collectors wants lists as most are still very similar to the standard releases. However saying that the 7" 1964 single I am offering for sale is one of the rarest ones Can't Buy Me Love which is noticeably different mainly due to the fact it has a solid centre, rather than the common push out one. I'm not sure which record company got the go ahead to press these, I can only deduce it may have been Oreole or Pye. One thing for sure is they rarely ever seem to turn up on Ebay. How many were ever pressed I haven't a clue but there can't be many left today.
The company sleeve is fully intact with a small number on it and light handling wear grading as Very Good Condition.
The record visually has been played with the usual hairlines. On Side 1 there are some small marks in the deadwax at the end, just encroaching onto the last few grooves of the vinyl. It is still in presentable condition with no major issues and I am grading as Good to Very Good Condition.
Both sides of the record play well on my stereo and with great clarity. Side 1 Can't Buy Me Love plays to VG+ Condition a great listen. Side 2 You Can't Do That plays to the same standard again sounding fine.
For those who want to know the matrix numbers Side 1 is 7XCE 17657 1N and Side 2 is 7XCE 17658 1N.
If you are looking for mint condition this is not for you, but it is an acceptable example of this record that hardly ever turns up on ebay.
