Description
Selling my copy of the UK edition of The Beatles 1978 blue box set. 13 full length albums with one double LP makes for a total of 14 discs in this set. Both the White Album and Sgt. Pepper also include the original inserts. Albums in this set are : Please Please Me, With The Beatles, Beatles For Sale, Help, A Hard Day's Night, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles (White Album), Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, Let It Be, The Beatles "Rarities". Here is the background on this specific copy of the set: I am the second owner. The first owner was a (late) friend whom was very meticulous about maintaining his vinyl. Therefore the discs are all in NM to Mint condition, with the exception of The Beatles "Rarities". Side 2 of "Rarities" shows a few light paper scuffs. Having examined the other discs as closely, I want to call them "mint" or "unplayed". I don't see evidence of stylus marks. The paper scuffs on "Rarities" suggest that this was the only album that he played. I have never played any of the records during my ownership of the set. Note: While grading them just now, I handled them very gingerly and used a can of spray air to remove any specks of dust or paper to confirm that they were not abnormalities. About the condition of the box: The box shows some storage wear and creasing in a couple of places, but is generally in good condition. (Please see photos) About the condition of the jackets: None have ring wear and ten are in NM to Mint condition. The exceptions are as follows: The Beatles "Rarities": The edge opposite the opening has been punched through by the disc, leaving a slit about one inch long. The inner paper sleeve itself has slits along two edges (bottom and one side). Rubber Soul: When held at an angle to a light, several streak marks can be seen on the front cover. Not sure what could have caused this but I think it was in manufacturing. Also, the glue along most of the bottom edge has separated where front and back meet. I am not going to glue this myself. I will leave that option up to you. Let It Be: The edge opposite the opening has been punched through by the disc, leaving a slit about two inches long. The inner paper sleeve itself has slits along three edges. Finally, there is one record label issue: Abbey Road: A-side outer edge of the record label on the disc has some bubbling and imperfections that appear to have occurred at the pressing plant. It is not a result of wear, and is certainly nothing that would affect play. It is strictly a slight cosmetic abnormality. I think this provides an accurate description of everything.
