Description
This is the LP that "Rarities" should have been. Capitol Records was going to release an album of Beatles B-sides, different takes and unreleased versions. The thought is that this would be the LP. Instead Beatles fans got Capitol's release of "Rarities" which, by comparison, was a very disappointing replacement. Thanks goodness the original version was put together and released by a clandestine source. The LP features a far better cover than the released version with examples of early Beatles memorabilia. The label is the purple Capitol throwback label with a promotional number assigned to this release of SPRO 9463. The record itself, I'd hazard to say has never been played. If it has it was limited to once. The cover is equally beautiful. This is a copy that any Beatles fan or collector would be proud to display or have in their collection.Beatlology Magazine, several years ago, named this release of "Collector's Items" as the rarest of it's kind. A limited number of copies were pressed in 1979 and, for an album that's 40-years old, you won't find a better one. Please do not hesitate to contact me for additional photography or further information. Good luck and happy bidding!
My Cleaning and Care Process: All records are scrubbed with Tergitol 15-S-7 using a goat hair brush then placed in a Kirmuss ultrasonic tank for 5 minutes then vacuumed off with a platterless VPI 16.5. They are then rinsed with deionized water and vacuumed a final time... Once cleaned LP is placed in a Diskeeper inner sleeve and jacket is placed in an outer sleeve.
Packaging: I use LP mailers with cardboard stiffeners. The LP is placed outside the jacket. The box had fragile stickers placed on each side of the mailer.
