Description
Extremely rare and highly sought after vinyl pressing of a mid-60's release of Beatles songs titled The Beatles. (German import) The jacket cover is unlike any lp release from England or The United States. The photo on the back side of the album sleeve is when the Beatles first met royalty and is also unique to this album cover. My prior description of this pressing was not totally correct. Another eBay member who seems to know Beatles recordings overall very well wrote me and explained: ".... this album shares the same sequence of tracks as the UK Please Please Me. What makes this pressing one of a kind is that it is a direct transfer from the UK master tape without the compression that George Martin applied to the UK LP (compressed 2 to 1). This vinyl release has a deeper bass and a better high end and is generally considered the best sounding version of this album. Apple Germany reissued this lp again in the mid 70's, but the German recording engineers inexplicably added annoying vocal reverb to the left channel". He added that while he owns a different version, the one I have offered in this listing is "superior."
