Besides selling sheet music, we also sell Beatles albums. These records are used by Upstream Music for research on all worldwide pressings. This is for research for a book that the publisher is doing.
The record here for sale is one of those!
In mid-1969, all of the Beatles Parlophone EP's were reissued onto a label having "The Gramophone Co. Ltd" in the rim print but having NO "Sold in UK" message across the middle of the label. This is commonly called the 70's label, because it lasted through 1976. After that (this pressing):
Black/yellow Parlophone label with silver print: Type-6
(1) capitalized "THE EMI RECORDS LTD." rims,
(2) solid yellow Parlophone logo
(3) "(P) 196X" statement
(4) "SOLD IN U.K." statement was removed
(5) Push-out center / Solid center
This EP comes from a record shop. It has been stored in the archives for over 30 years. The owner sold it directly to me and I have stored for a few years now. So it's never been played.
