The Beatles! FAB FOUR ON FILM b/w The Beatles' Movie Medley RARE 1982 PROMO 7" 45 (Capitol B-5107) MINT Record & Sleeve. Condition is "used." Ships inexpensively by USPS Media Mail.
This auction is for an interesting record, FAB FOUR ON FILM, that is the flip side of The Beatles' Movie Medley, first issued by Capitol Records in conjunction with the compilation album "Reel Music" released in March 1982 which contained 14 songs that had been featured in such films as A Hard Day's Night, Help, and Yellow Submarine. FAB FOUR ON FILM is an interview with The Beatles about making the movie, A Hard Day's Night. To promote the release in the U.S., Capitol issued The Beatles' Movie Medley, a 3:56 7? single featuring snippets of half of the songs on the LP.
The A-side, The Beatles' Movie Medley, was released in the US on March 22.1982. It had been Inspired by the success of the 1981 "Stars on 45 Medley," a recording which included numerous Beatles songs sung by a John Lennon sound-alike. The Movie Medley is a compilation of snippets from various Beatles songs, chosen from their five films, A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine, and Let It Be, which peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was later re-released with I'm Happy Just to Dance With You on the flip side. It remains the only Beatles single not released on CD or music download.
