Description

An original late-1st mono issue of BFS on UK Parlophone. Matrix 4N/4N [earliest 1st pressing is 3N/3N]. The labels exhibit 'Parlophone' and 'recording 1st pub' as you would expect on a 1st issue. Tax code "MT". I would imagine this LP was sold Jan/Feb 1965 - whilst this album was still charting. It's certainly worth going for the early copies - it will guarantee you a better pressing. The vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold. We also have the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) A lovely copy that has clearly only seen light use. Check out those labels! There are a couple of very light marks per side, and one tiny mark midway through side 2 which does just sound momentarily [detail below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Lovely quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Really superb audio integrity and has clearly only seen light use. It's got a very delicate adept delivery - with hardly a whiff of background. Maybe a couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side - now that is an excellent strike rate on this title. Moonlight and Sun on side 1 are very tricky low-key tracks. They will play with a bit of background on most copies - but not here! The tracks play clean as a whistle - which is unusual. The only one issue [as alluded to above] is a small mark which causes a couple of ticks as track 4 closes out - and a couple more as track 5 starts up. If you can live with that one issue - the rest of the LP plays back to a very high standard.
Cover (Ex-) A really difficult one to source in decent condition due to the way it was designed. But this example is in rather rude health with a lovely firm front panel. That front is usually knackered - but it's looking very crisp and clean with just a couple of minor creases. The rear looks superb with no dulling of colours and no creasing at all. The interior is looking real nice - no issues. Edge wear is really light for this title. The spine is pretty much fully intact with all text fully legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing. No splits.
