Description

An original 1st press of BFS on UK Parophone. Matrix 3N/3N - 1st press. Tax code "MT". Note the labels mention 'Parlophone' in the perimeter text and 'recording 1st pub'. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold cover. We also have an original Emitex inner from the sixties [a classical one]. 
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection I could make out a few light marks per side - nothing heavy or troublesome. So, if you're in any way fussy about surfaces - this one's probably not gonna be for you. But if you're able to compromise a little on looks this is a great playing original copy. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with deviation in a couple of tracks. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity [by and large]. Generally speaking a very nice clean player and given the vintage - impressive. The issue on BFS is often the super fussy tracks...Moonlight and Sun. Many copies can't deliver these two fully clean. You WILL get a bit of light background in these two. So, don't expect them to play as clean as elsewhere. Nothing upfront - and these tracks are perfectly playable. One solitary tick in 'ELTSD'. Otherwise a super original 1st in mono.
Cover (Ex-) Super difficult to find this particular title in great condition. The cover is notoriously difficult to keep in good condition. But this example is bucking the trend - predominantly. Good colour retention and nice firm opening panel [this tends to deteriorate quickly]. Lovely clean and flat surfaces front and back. Not much sign of creasing at all - impressive. The interior looks real nice - much better than you typically find. Edge wear is pretty slight - not that much really. The openings are still firm. The spine retains a good square shape without much sign of compression. Text fully legible and not much wear. Very tidy - unlike a lot of examples. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Some ageing. One side split has been taped up. bag present.
