Description

An original BFS on UK Parlophone from spring 1965. Matrix 3N/3N - very 1st cut. The perimeter text reads 'Parlophone' and 'recording 1st published' - as you would expect at 1st press. The vinyl comes housed in an original mono gatefold. We also have the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) A lovely copy that has seen only the very lightest use. Just check out those label shots! There are a couple of very lightest marks both sides - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Very quiet intros and inbetweens and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Really superb audio integrity. Yes, it's an early copy that will be helping. And yes it is heavy pressed by EMI. But ultimately what takes this copy up to the top-level is it has only seen very light use. It's got a very delicate adept delivery - with hardly a whiff of background. Maybe a couple of crackles in a couple of spots per side - now that is an excellent strike rate on this title. Moonlight and Sun on side 1 are very tricky low-key tracks. They will play with a bit of background on most copies. But there's very little noticeable exhibiting, here, just a couple of minor crackles [that's all]. If you're looking for the absolute best audio going - don't let this one drift out of your hands! Please note - there's a small 'B' in biro on the side 1 label.
Cover (Ex) But here's the really difficult find - a BFS cover that can actually grade at Ex. That front opening panel is usually knackered - but this copy is absolutely superbly preserved. I'm not sure I've ever seen that front panel better - it is crisp with only one miniscule thumbnail crease [highly unusual]. Ditto the rear - as good as you could possibly hope for with just a touch of laminate lift extreme top right. The interior looks superb no issues at all. Edge wear is very very light for this title - impressively so. The opening panel is crisp with sharp edge and pointy corners [extremely unusual]. The spine is superb - 100% intact. This is about as good it is humanly possible for you to find it. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. You won't be finding better any time soon<<<<<
