The Beatles The Beatles For Sale vinyl lp PCS3062 EMI Records Parlophone black and yellow label 1964 stereo 1st press. NB The stereo version of this lp is much harder to find.
Matrix YEX142-1 / YEX143-1
Vinyl is Side 1 Excellent / Side 2 Very Good+. The vinyl is very glossy with a few thin surface marks on both sides. I've listened to this in full to grade it. Side 1 is at least Excellent with often near silence between tracks. Side 2 is the same with the exception of about 9 light clicks at the beginning of 'I Don't Want To Spoil The Party'. Without the beginning of 'I Don't Want..' this lp has an overall sound bordering on Excellent+. You can listen to the unedited recording of Side 1 from the vinyl. I'll upload Side 2 upon request.
Gatefold Sleeve is Good+ (Scuffed corners and a small tear about 1cm long on rear of sleeve from bottom corner. Other minor imperfections). This is graded rigidly using the guidelines below but initially appears much better than Good+. Inner Emitext polylined sleeve is Very Good (creases).
Summary:- 99% Excellent sound and only 99p starting price...................... with only £3.25 P&P to UK.
This has been cleaned on a Okki Nokki RCM FREE for the buyer.
Grading system used:-
Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Near Mint (NM) The record looks brand new with no scuffing or any deterioration in sound quality and only the smallest hint that its ever been played. The cover and any additional extras are clean, crisp and with no wear whatsoever.
Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
Fair (F) The record is still just about playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or
defaced.
Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
