Description

In this auction: One Picture Cover & One 7-inch Record. Here are the details:

  • “FOUR BY THE BEATLES” 7-Inch Extended Play (EP) Record & Picture Cover by The Beatles

  • This is Capitol Records EAP 1-2121.

  • It was issued May 11, 1964.

  • This EP contains 4 songs. Side 1: “ROLL OVER BEETHOVEN” & “ALL MY LOVING” Side 2: “THIS BOY” & “PLEASE MISTER POSTMAN”.

  • This EP was issued in a cardboard cover entitled “FOUR BY THE BEATLES”.

  • The PICTURE COVER is in VERY NICE NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) CONDITION!!! You will see in the images that it is indeed a BEAUTIFUL COVER with VERY MINIMAL WEAR which consists of: VERY TINY pushes on one of the top corners and one of the bottom corners and a couple of VERY SMALL and VERY LIGHT creases (not very noticeable) near one of the top corners. There are NO seam splits and NO flaking (in fact, there is NO wear on the seams, not a bit at all!). Often I’ve seen this cover with seam splits usually near the opening. There is NO writing and NO ring wear on this cover. It ranks as one of the nicest picture covers of this EP release that I’ve seen in a long time.

  • The VINYL is graded VERY STRONG VG+ CONDITION (not far from Near Mint) with just a few VERY LIGHT surface hairlines/scuffs. One label has a star written lightly in ballpoint which would lower the record grade a bit, but the vinyl itself is as described. (The star is much more pronounced in the images due to the camera flash. It is not as pronounced when viewing the label in natural lighting.)

  • The EP format (7-inch record with 2 songs on each side) for Beatles’ records was not common at all in the U.S. In fact, only 3 Beatles’ EPs were commercially released in the U.S. in the 1960s: 2 were issued by Capitol Records and one was issued by Vee Jay Records.

It’s an UNCOMMON BEATLES EP IN VERY NICE CONDITION that deserves a prominent place in someone’s Beatles or vinyl collection!
