The Beatles "FROM LIVERPOOL BOX SET" ORIGINAL from 1980!!!!
Released on the 3rd November 1980!!!!
Also with this Set are the ORIGINAL 33.1/3 Flexi Disc the Poster and the World Records Guarentee Slip!!!!
"The Beatles Box" Catalogue Number SM 701/8 is an 8 album (L.P. or Cassette) Boxed Set issued by EMI through it's "World Records" subsidary!!!!
Unlike The Beatles Collection (in the Blue box) released two years earlier, this Set is actually New albums in New sleeves!!!! The set was advertised Vigouresly in the National Press from the 5th November 1980 through into 1981. This means it was at the Forefront right across the period of John Lennon's murder, and therefor Sales had been quite Good, but as this Box Set was sold ONLY by Mail Order the figures did NOT qualify for chart entry, and consequently are NOT publicly known!!!!!
All the Songs throughout the eight L.P.'s which were Selected by Simon Sinclair, are arranged Chronologically, and the Covers reflect this, in that Each has a picture from the appropriate period on the Front, and a well-written Biography of the period by Hugh Marshall on the Rear!!!!
The Box itself was designed looking like a Wooden Crate with Plenty of information and sold for Twenty Nine Pounds and Seventy Five Pence!!!!
Incredibibly, "World Records" were given some Different mixes of some of the Tracks, that were Unavailable anywhere else at the time, and therefor made this Box Set an ESSENTIAL purchase, and anyway, it's a Nice looking, Excellent set!!!!
CONDITION!!!!
The Black (two box EMI) Labels are ALL in Excellent/Mint condition with NO wear showing. These Records have NEVER been played!!!! I took the First one from the Set and play graded it on a Linn LP12 Sondek through a Linn System (which is very unforgiving). The Playback was "SUPERB"!!!! The record laid perfectly Flat with no Warping!!!!
I would give these Records an overall grade of EXCELLENT++/MINT!!!! You will NOT find a Better set!!!!
The Record Sleeves are also in EXCELLENT++/MINT condition and have no Rips, Tears, Writing or Knocks!!!!
The Outer Box is in EXCELLENT++ condition with just two Very Slight corner knocks!!!!
The unplayed Flexi Disc is in EXCELLENT/Mint condition!!!!!
The Poster is in EXCELLENT/Mint condition!!!!
The World Records Guarantee Slip is in EXCELLENT/MINT condition!!!!
I like to point out ALL or any Defects so the buyer knows EXACTLY what they are getting. They may sound a little off putting but I can ASSURE you they are tiny in comparison to the "RARITY" of this item. I am expecting a lot of interest in this simply because it is NOT something you will often see for sale. Look on Ebay or ANY Beatles related websites and you will find these Very Difficult to locate a BETTER conditioned Complete and Whole Box Set!!!!! Awesome!!!!
