Description
Artist : THE BEATLES
LP Title : Help!
Label : Parlophone / PMC 1255 / 1965 MONO
Matrix Numbers : XEX 549-2 [stamper: 4 8? , RLL] / XEX 550-2 [stamper: 1 6 , RLL]
Notes : First Mono Pressing, yellow and black Parlophone labels with 'The Gramophone Co.' text around rims, and 'Sold In UK...' text in label centres, 'K T' tax code embossed on side 1 label, front laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve with outlined 'Mono' text in top right corner, Emitex tracing-paper lined inner sleeve.
Condition : The vinyl is in lovely NM- condition, and sounds truly stunning! There are three or four hairline marks visible on side 2, but they don't appear to have affected this heavy duty vinyl at all which aside from a little dust is very very clean and glossy. It has such a crisp and clear sound, great audio with a full, deep sound.
The labels are bright, clean and unworn, with the faint trace of a couple of spindle marks.
The sleeve is also in NM- condition, a truly amazing example! Both the front and back are bright white, and very clean - none of the usual marking from handling. I believe this has always been kept stored away in a PVC sleeve to protect it since it was first purchased back in 1965 as a Christmas present - it has a note written in blue biro at the top of the rear sleeve: "June, from Mum, Xmas 1965". The colours on the front of the sleeve are vivid and unfaded, the spine is nice and square and displays perfect text. The Emitex inner sleeve is in EX condition.
A truly remarkable copy of this classic Beatles album. A first pressing with stunning audio - a great find!
