Description

I’m listing more duplicates from my personal collection of Beatles and Beatles-related vinyl. So, please check out my other auctions, too, for items you may want.

In this auction are 1 original (NOT reissue) Beatles Picture Sleeve and 1 original Capitol 45 RPM record. Here are the details:

·       “MATCHBOX” b/w “SLOW DOWN” performed by The Beatles 

·       This is Capitol Records 5255.

·       This record was issued August 24, 1964. 

·       This ORIGINAL PICTURE SLEEVE is in VERY STRONG VG+ CONDITION!! Only signs of light handling and just a very tiny hint of partial ring wear near the center (you’ll have to look hard to see it) keep me from grading this sleeve Near Mint. There are NO seam splits, NO writing, and NO tears on this sleeve, just the very light wear I mentioned. The images show some reflection of the flash at the bottom of the sleeve. It is ONLY flash reflection. It is NOT disc impression wear. There is NO wear at the bottom of the sleeve at all.  

·       This is a Straight-cut (EAST COAST) Sleeve.

·       I’ve always wondered about the attraction that this particular picture sleeve has. I read that many collectors want it because the Beatles didn’t write the two songs and because of the “live/stage concert” image (although a bit out-of-focus) on the sleeve. A viewer of this auction informed me that the live/stage performance image is from when the Beatles played on "The Ed Sullivan Show".

·       It’s a VERY DESIRABLE and HARD-TO-FIND BEATLES PICTURE SLEEVE IN THIS NICE and CLEAN CONDITION!!

·       The VINYL is in NICE VG CONDITION with a number of light/ surface hairlines/scuffs.
