THE BEATLES - 'HELP!'


Here are TWO rare & genuine 1-sided EMI MONO test-pressings for the acclaimed 1981 mono re-issue series*

Each disc plays 1 side of their 1965 UK album 'Help!'

The other side of each disc plays a continuous test-tone signal.

Both discs have red labels with 'UNTESTED PRESSING' stamped on each playing side.


Playing side matrices: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2

These are the same analogue '-2/-2' cuttings as on the 1965 UK 1st pressing.

Side 1 was re-cut as '-3' for the commercial release after this test pressing.

Non-playing side matrix: LPFB 2

Stamper codes: 7,10/G & 1,6/G

Vinyl weights: 144g & 143g


Housed in a semi-gloss UK 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover, complete with original opaque '10/80' (October 1980) EMI inner-sleeves.

CONDITION

Labels: MINT -

Both are immaculate with just a single spindle trail on the non-playing label.

Visual: MINT

Factory-fresh playing surfaces which as 'as new' both in strong daylight AND directly beneath halogen light.

Audio: MINT

Played just once or twice on studio equipment for test purposes, the sound quality of both of these disc is flawless and incredible throughout. Cut by Harry Moss, the man who cut the original LP, all tracks play with a clarity and presence not present on any other pressing I've heard of this album. There are none of the crackle or groovewear issues which often spoil the sound of the 1965 1st pressings, just pristine analogue mono as is was meant to be - right from the original pressing plates. You won't find a better mono source for this album.

Cover: EXCELLENT +

Clean, white & strong with just a hint of storage and a small wrinkle to the upper edge. All corners are sharp and unworn, as are both opening edges. Both upper and lower seams are unstressed & fully intact.

Inner-sleeves: EXCELLENT +

Fully intact with very light storagewear only.
