Description

An original Stereo 1st press of Help from 1965 on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 1-GT/2-RG. Please note the label is perfectly consistent with very 1st press - the asterisk shows after 'I Need You' and 'Lark Music' is still abbreviated to 'Lark Mus.' The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original 'stereo' Garrod and Lofthouse cover. We also have an original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with great clarity. Don't underestimate how difficult it is to find a decent original stereo copy. The audio on offer, here, is absolutely top draw. Lovely and crisp with great instrument separation - what's not to like? Thankfully someone really has taken great care of this LP. Even the quiet tracks play very nice and clean and the benchmark track - Yesterday....plays really SWEET. All we could detect were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments an a couple of brief ticks in 'Tell me What you See'. It really is a storming rendition that would be difficult to equal let alone exceed.
Cover (Ex) In lovely shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. That iconic front is still looking brilliantly white - the way it should do! Unlike many examples that surface this copy seems to have avoided the ageing process. Even on the rear, often the problem area, it is very nice and clean. All flipbacks are intact and edge wear is light. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies totally flat. A stunner!
Emitex (Vg) A bit of ageing and a small tiny inscription written on one small patch and a small tear at the die-cut opening.
