Original last Mono pressing of The Beatles “Help! Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” released by Capitol Records in 1965. The currently listed copy is undocumented and incredibly rare, because it contains the elements of all of the 3 Capitol pressing plants. It’s hard to say how many of these copies were pressed but in many years of selling and collecting vinyl, this is the first time it has come into our sights. First and foremost, this copy was pressed at the Capitol Records, Los Angeles, CA plant and contains the hybrid labels. Side 1 of this issue has the extremely rare and very hard to find Jacksonville in-house label with a small bold text, which was available for only several days in late 1967 before the industry switched entirely to the Stereo format in 1968. Side 2 contains the last Mono Scranton misprint label crediting “The Bitter End” to Ken Thorne, indicating “You’re Going to Lose That Girl” as opposed to the correct one “You’re Gonna Lose That Girl” and separating out the “You Can’t Do That” track. Original 1st print Mono gatefold cover still remains in the original fully intact factory shrink wrap and is in great condition. This rare Los Angeles, CA plant pressing contains the following full matrix numbers including the machine stamped “*” asterisk plant identifier: Side 1 - MAS-1-2386-F13 2 *; Side 2 - MAS-2-2386-F11 3 *. This copy comes with the original olive-green "Capitol's New Improved Full Dimensional Stereo Sounds Better Than Stereo Has Ever Sounded Before" inner sleeve. The listing includes a very rare original 1965 United Artists “Help!” promotional 22” X 28” half-sheet poster as well as an original 1965 United Artists 13¼” X 18” promotional pressbook. Before the film’s US release on August 9th, 1965, United Artists prepared a special pressbook for the promotion of the film sending it to movie theaters nationwide. Original large format United Artists Pressbook presents the information about the film’s vast merchandise, publicity as well as exploitation campaign materials, including the Capitol Records LP album and posters, one which is included in this listing, synopsis and the cast / production staff credits.

The cover is in stunning Mint Minus condition. We grade the vinyl visually as Very Good plus. It retains its beautiful factory gloss only having some very light non-feelable surface marks and hairlines as well as scuffs from the original inner sleeve. Side 2 has a couple of long hairlines but they are non-feelable and don’t affect the playback in any way. The Near Mint labels are very clean and don’t have any scuffs, wear or spindle marks. The vinyl sounds amazing only having some very light occasional static which most likely will go way if the record is professionally cleaned using the VPI cleaning machine. The very rare original half-sheet movie poster has been professionally restored and paper backed using an archival quality Japanese paper which will protect the poster preserving its condition for many many years to come. The poster had a couple of issues, including some tape and light tears, which have been professionally addressed using the fully reversible archival methods, and is now in Excellent Minus condition. The incredibly hard to find original United Artists Pressbook is in great vintage condition with all of the pages perfectly intact and no tears, and only has some very light foxing along the spine.
