Description

The Beatles “Help” Vinyl LP Original Stereo Recording PCS 3071 on the Black & Yellow Parlophone Label. Condition is "Used". Dispatched via eBay Packlink.


For sale is an early first/second stereo pressing from 1965 with the “outline” block “stereo” on the front of the Garrod & Lofthouse front cover.


Now for the nerdy stuff. The label has the statement “SOLD IN UK SUBJECT....” etc. and an embossed KT tax code. The Matrix numbers are: Side 1: YEX 168 - 1 & Side 2 YEX 169 - 1. “Mothers and Stampers” are 3 AR and 3 AD sides 1&2 respectively.


Like most of my records, this is not even close to mint condition. It’s sort of “meh!”, but okay. I think it’s fine and I cut it some slack because it’s nearly 56 years old and a rarer “stereo” version of the record. Clearly the vinyl has hairlines and definitely what look like scratches. The bad news is I haven’t even played it as I bought it after my turntable stopped working; then we moved house, then Covid etc etc. Anyway, it might play fine - somehow, I doubt it. What you’re buying is a tiny little bit of history, originally bought by a fan just when Lennon was getting a little chubby, grumpy and introspective and McCartney was making “scrambled eggs” in Jane Asher’s parents’ house.


So, taking all the above into account, please examine the photographs carefully as they form an integral part of the condition report etc. As I say, it’s not too bad for being 56 years old this August!
