The Beatles "Hey Jude" Misspelt "Paper Back" rare 1st Pressing 1970 YEEX 150-1RD

I am not a dealer I have graded this to the best of my ability, please see photos for more detail, this is from my personal collection which I am selling off.
Year 1970 February, The Beatles have just split and Apple records at Saville Row London (famous for the Beatles January 1970 "Get Back" final rooftop concert)  Apple release "Hey Jude" for export only, bizarrely EMI did not put this on full UK release till 1979 , Abbey Road was still selling well in UK! how complacent of EMI  "Let it be" was "in the can".......and USA had a lot of interest in what was coming next/last?
Apple decided to go for "Export Only" for this album... the reason?  "Let It Be" was on the way and with "Abbey Road" still shifting bucket loads in UK EMI made the call, for the reason the only copies that exist of the Apple UK first press 1970 were those intended mainly for USA.
This is one of those early Apple UK presses intended only for USA sales where they had 2 million advance orders and few records! some however leaked into the London record shops they sold well!
disclogs.com comment "1st pressings of this export issue are pretty scarce. They have a fully laminated cover, dark green apple labels and contain at least one label error: "paper back" instead of "paperback".
This a early rare misspelt "Paper Back Writer" credit on side 1 (see photo) Green apple side (pity about the pen writing "old needle this side" on the green label which was there when we got it) the visible in pics scratch through Paperback plays through with no issues and wont hurt your stylus with only a click audible at the start of Paperback, no jumps or skips at all, intro to the amazing "Rain" from the Revolver 1966 sessions its gone and the rest of side 1 is in good order. side 2 is clean no issues plays well.
NOTE, Please don't confuse this with the South African export copy released by Parlophone PCSJ 149 which also was sold in some UK shops to try to cope with demand.
This is a rare 1st UK press "Darker Apple" CPCS 106 original from 1970 with the Apple Records (export only not on later issues) and George Martin credits on rear cover.
Much much later in 1979! the "Lighter Apple" EMI PCS 7184 came out in UK on general release.    
Very Hard to Find in good order the sleeve has the correct Produced by"George Martin" credit on rear cover also below this a very tiny "manufactured by EMI records (The gramophone company ltd)" underneath.  The cover and rear sleeve pictures are from the very last "Photo Shoot" and last meeting as a "band" at the Lennon's home near Ascot in August 1969. after this it was only business meetings with A Klien and the lawyers.... 
The singles and rare B sides are in abundance here with some takes hard to find anywhere else. "Revolution" is so much distorted and punchier here, the stereo version of  the fantastic " Rain" recorded back in April 66 on the "Revolver" sessions later used as the Paperback B side is here in stereo and is only avaiable in mono on other UK albums.  This sounds so much more with Lennon's rasp "when the rain comes they run and hide their heads, they might as well be dead" Ringos drums are one of his best performances in the studio here hitting you in the mix, play this on any good deck...... we used a Rega 3 with great results.    
The sound quality from these Abbey Road recordings is amazing,
"Dont let me down" Lady Madonna,"Cant buy me love", "I should have know better"with a girl like you..."Ballad of John and Yoko" + "Harisons favourite mix of "Old Brown Shoe"

This is Fat nice heavy 70s vinyl) with white (a little yellowed) inner sleeve,
Condition sleeve,Nr (Mint)  
 Apple CPCS 106 Garrod and Lofthouse sleeve with "George Martin" credit at bottom,  very shiny laminate (as it should be) V good + no writing or stickers or tears however in 40 years life some creases appear, no cuts or tears otherwise all good.. the spine and corners are good only laminate creases keep this way from "mint"


The Record,VG+,
 this 1st pressing YEEX 151-1 RD 151-1 GG 

also on side 1 there is a  small 2 stamped at 9 o'clock and a 1 on side 2
 side 1 "Mfd in UK" 331/3 is on the label.  RD stamp plays with no jumps or sticks, the Apple pressing has a scratch across paperback writer (misspelt on label) also some pen writing "old needle this side" I can confirm this does not affect play with only an audible "click" at the start, into the start of "Rain" and its gone. side 2  plays clean no issues with label,This record is very quiet in passages but there are some hairline scuffs and small marks see pictures
 plays well , some light scuffs see pictures but nothing to interfere with play overall this is a great sounding copy with Fat 70s vinyl benefits.





note (this record has not been cleaned as some buyers prefer their own cleaning) , if you want cleaning please ask we can clean with a "disco antistat original german cleaner”
