If you ask yourself when the last time you saw a copy of Introducing The Beatles with the 1st Version Labels having not the common oval VJ logo but the rarest large brackets Vee-Jay logo was then the answer most likely will be never. On various "The Beatles" sources the minimal cost of the copy with this label variation is estimated to be $1000 and considering its insane rarity I think its underpriced. Of course, there're more expensive label variations, like the Stereo labels, but you won't find the rarer labels than this copy listed for an auction. Not always the most expensive item is the rarest one and this is exactly applicable to this copy. These large brackets 1st print variation labels are a gem in a Beatles collection. When I acquired this copy it was the only and last time I've ever seen it. Therefore, I've listed the copy with a reserve price and if it isn't reached then it will remain in my collection. The cover of this copy represents a very early 1st print withdrawn cardboard "Column Back" cover mentioning the "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You" tracks which are absent on the second version reprint cover. The sleeve remains in its original "Hi-Fi" protective baggy. The copy comes with an ultra rare 1st press Vee-Jay white background inner sleeve having 25 color photos of other Vee-Jay albums. 1st print color band version 1 labels with the incredibly rare large Vee-Jay brackets logo,"Long-Playing" and "Microgroove" text, and 2¾" pressing ring. The record was pressed by the Allentown Record Co. Inc. company in Pennsylvania and contains the "ARC" etched in the runout groove along with the machine stamped "AudioMatrix". The matrix numbers featuring the very early pressing date stamp are as follows: Side 1 - 63-3402 ARC AudioMatrix AB 1-10-64; Side 2 - 63-3403 ARC AudioMatrix A IPA. The cover is graded Excellent Minus having some light shelf wear, light chipping at the top left corner, a hint of ring wear at the bottom on the front and several light creases at the spine. The inner sleeve is in Very Good Plus condition having some light tears at the top, a split along the right edge in addition to some splits in the middle of the left and bottom edge. The glossy vinyl is in Very Good Plus condition having some light non-feelable hairlines and scuffs from the original inner sleeve. The large brackets labels are in Excellent Minus condition only having a few very light spindle marks and no wear. The vinyl sounds great without any skips, pops or ticks and even rarely having the background noise which is most likely just the static and I'm sure it will go away completely if the vinyl is professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
