Vee Jay Records ?– LP 1062
Mono, Released US 1964
This is an original copy of the 1963 mono recording of ‘Introducing the Beatles’ on the Vee-Jay label. This is the ‘version one’ release with ‘blank back’ that includes ‘Love Me Do’ and 'P.S. I Love You’. The record has the black VJ label with rainbow color band and oval logo. Print is block style font as opposed to some versions with serif lettering.
Vinyl: G+. There are visible surface scratches, most of which are not audible. The record plays through cleanly with no skipping, but with noise on some tracks. Slight scuffing of labels.
Matrix/Runout side A: 53-3402 etched, 6-29-63 etched, Audio Matrix stamp
Matrix/Runout side B: 53-3403 etched, 6-29-63 etched, Audio Matrix stamp
Jacket: VG. The cover is semi glossy and in nice condition with no splits or creases. The spine is in excellent condition. There is some slight edge wear along the bottom, and a ¼” tear on the backside open end. A faded name is apparent at the top RH of the front cover along with a scuff mark, or an attempt to remove the ink. There is faded writing above the title and on the back. There is also a stamped letter ‘A’ on the backside upper RH corner that may be an inventory or manufacturing mark. Comes with original Vee-Jay inner sleeve. Examine the photos carefully and judge for yourself.
