Description
This is an original American copy of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's 1969 LP "Wedding Album" (Apple SMAX 3361) in it's 12-7/8" X 12-7/8" X 3.4" box. Included are most of the original items that came with the package upon it's release. Below is a rundown of what is included: LP - The original gatefold cover houses a first pressing of the LP. The gatefold cover itself is in VG+ condition with some minor corner wear and slight discoloration to the back cover. The LP itself has been played and I'll also call VG+ condition. BOOKLET - "The Press" is a 12X12 booklet that is a 16-page + cover featuring press clippings and cartoons of the wedding and surrounding events. PHOTO STRIP - A 1/2" X 6" photo strip of John and Yoko taken in a photo booth. There is a small tack hole on the very top of the strip and slight discoloration to the backside. POSTCARD - A 3-1/2" X 5-1.2" postcard of John and Yoko from the Amsterdam Bed-In. There is a small tack hole on the very top of the postcard otherwise the card is in good shape. POSTER - A 12" X 36" poster featuring drawings from John. While it's clear the poster has been handled and looked at numerous times, there are no tack holes or discoloration. POSTER - A 24" X 36" two-sided poster with photos of John and Yoko from the wedding and surrounding activities. This piece has been used as there are numerous tack holes to the corner wth one small piece of a corner actually slightly missing. It appears the original owner could not decide where to hang it and moved it several times. WEDDING LICENSE - This plece is glued to the inside of the top box lid just as it was originally. BOX - The box itself is in approximately Good + condition. The bottom portion has discoloration and corner rips to three of the four sides along with one rip in the middle of one side. It still hold together however. The top lid has all four corners in tact with what appears to be small tape stains on the inside lid but the tape is no longer there. The front cover of the top lid has age discoloration but is still presentable. PLEASE NOTE! The piece of photo of the slice of wedding cake and the mylar bag that housed that photo are missing.
All-in-all this a wonderful starter piece or a set for someone to pull from if their box is missing piece(s). Considering the rareity of the box, this is still a nice piece to own and wonderful collection filler.
