This listing is for a BRAND NEW 7” vinyl single- The Beatles - “Love Me Do / P.S. I Love You”.
The single is housed in a carboard sleeve inside a plastic sleeve.
THE PLASTIC SLEEVE IS NOT SEALED AND WAS NOT SEALED AT TIME OF RELEASE.
The label on the 45 lists both songs as MONO recordings.
The audio is taken from the mono remaster of 2009.
The single is on the UK Parlophone label and was released to mark the the 50th anniversary of the original release on 5 October 1962.
The original version of the single slated for release 5 October 2012 was recalled by EMI when it was discovered they had mistakenly used the version of Love Me Do that features Andy White on drums, and had erroneously used catalogue # R 4714 on the B Side (R 4714 belongs to a 1960 Matt Monro release).
This withdrawn release has BC88258-01A1 etched in the run-out groove of the A Side and BC88258-01B1 etched in the run-out groove of the B Side.
EMI reissued the single on 22nd October with the version of Love Me Do that features Ringo on drums, although the B Side still carries the wrong catalogue # R 4714.
THIS VERSION OF THE SINGLE, UP FOR AUCTION, IS THE VERSION EMI REISSUED ON 22 OCTOBER 2012, AND HAS BC91232-01A ETCHED IN THE RUN-OUT GROOVE OF THE A SIDE, BUT KEPT BC88258-01B1 ETCHED IN THE RUN-OUT GROOVE OF THE B SIDE ,THE SAME AS THE 5th OCTOBER 2012 RELEASE.
** PLEASE NOTE: THERE ARE SOME SCUFF MARKS AND SOME RING WEAR ON THE PLASTIC SLEEVE.**
