The Beatles Let It Be Early U.K. Apple STEREO L.P. Pressing EX Condition

U.K. Apple label STEREO pressing of The Beatles ‘Let It Be’ L.P. (Catalogue Reference: Apple Records PCS 7096).  Please note that this is a stereo pressing of this (according to both the labels and the sleeve).  I’m selling a number of Beatles LPs currently and while they are mainly later 70s pressings I would think this is a very early 70s pressing.  The matrixes read ‘YEX 773-3U’ (Side One) and ‘YEX 774-3U’ (Side Two) which likely suggests that this is a third press.  The vinyl is stored in what I believe to be a later EMI label bag.  The sleeve is a Garrod & Lofthouse affair and is fully laminated.  Both the sleeve and the vinyl are of U.K. manufacture.  This is one of a collection of Beatles LPs which I am selling this week and while they have been played they have been very well looked after and are in superior condition to that which you usually locate.  Ultimately, this is why I am selling them as I believe they are good enough to be sold on this platform.

ITEM SPECIFIC COMMENTS

In common with the other Beatles LPs from this source the only marks were talking about here are thin and wispy hairline markings which require an intense light to be seen.  There is a section of the playing surface on both sides (in corresponding position) with a higher concentration of these marks which indicates that the playing surfaces gripped the inner paper sleeve whilst the vinyl was being withdrawn.  Otherwise hairline marks are more sparingly present across the rest of the playing surfaces.  I note a ‘suggestion’ of groove-wear on one track on Side Two ‘The Long & Winding Road’ however, this isn’t very obvious.  Beatles vinyl is hard to find in this kind of condition.  There is a real gleam to the lamination on the sleeve which indicates how little this copy has been handled.  There are two obvious flaws.  All the Beatles LPs from this source have received a knock to the top right-hand corner which has resulted in bending/creasing which should be visible in the attached images.  Here the bottom right-hand corner has also been ‘stubbed’.  This cannot been seen on the front of the sleeve but can be seen on the rear (bottom left-hand corner).  Otherwise there is minimal creasing along the spine and a small impression in the lamination on the front of the sleeve near the opening edge.  A great example of this LP and an early UK press to boot!  Please check my other auctions for the other Beatles LPs from this same source as well as a large selection of Folk, Jazz, Pop, R n B, Rock and Soul collectables in similarly immaculate condition!  Save me as a favourite seller as there is plenty more where this came from!  Overseas buyers welcome!

GRADINGS – How I Grade

My items are visually graded under an intense light using my nearly 20 years of experience buying and playing records.  I am a record collector first and foremost.  I would say my grading is on the conservative side however, it is also realistic.  Realistic in the sense that sometimes even brand new records are not immaculate.  Some items are play-graded and where this is the case it will be noted in the Item Description.  Please note that it is my assertion that 99.9% of issues which might be experienced upon playback of a record can be identified through visual grading.  I’m a longstanding Ebayer so please feel free to check my feedback if you have any concerns about the quality of the items I list.  As always please review my images if you have any concern about the condition of a sleeve!  A picture speaks a thousand words! 

GRADINGS - Description

MINT – If used to describe the condition of a record the item will be sealed.  Mint will rarely be used to describe the condition of a sleeve however, it will mean the item is sealed and no storage damage is evident.

NEAR MINT – When used to describe a record it will mean that it is hard to discern that the disc has been played.  When viewed under an intense light there might be the odd hairline mark however, you would really have to look hard for it.  Ultimately, the vinyl will look like it has just been made.  When used to describe a sleeve it will mean that the sleeve has no shelf-wear or storage damage.  The sleeve will look like new.

EXCELLENT+ - There will be an indication that the record has seen some play but not heavy play.  When viewed under an intense light only the tiniest, wispiest hairline markings will be present and not excessively so.  The vinyl will retain a great sheen.  A sleeve described as EX+ will display minimal shelf or storage wear including an odd crease or the stubbing of corners, slight fraying to the opening edge.  Ultimately, the sleeve will still be a superior example.

EXCELLENT – There might be an indication that the record has seen a reasonable amount of play and handling however, it has been well looked after.  Superficial surfaces scuffs may be present but no marks of real substance (i.e. which will affect playback).  Under an intense light it is likely that a relative volume of hairline marks are present.  A sleeve described as EX will display shelf or storage wear including creasing, loss of print (due to rubbing), possible stubbing of corners etc.  The sleeve will not display any substantial flaws.  Ultimately, it will be a solid copy.
