Description

An original export LIB from 1971 on the UK Apple label. Matrix 3U/3U [not the earliest - you can get 2's]. Well worth going for the earlier copies as they were pressed heavier and the audio reproduction is better than copies just a year or two later. The vinyl comes housed in an early cover WITHOUT the green Apple logo. This is the original EXPORT version of the cover - PPCS7096 on the spine. Apple Records were still relatively new at the time and did not have the necessary licencing for countries outside the UK in place. As a result, and temporarily, the Beatles opted to use the Parlophone entity which was equipped to deal with licencing abroad. The cover is also the early design with nice pinched spine. We  also have an original Apple inner sleeve too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. We will ship in a black replica inner too...to complete the aesthetic.
Vinyl (Ex+) Jeepers creepers...this copy is looking gorgeous...you just don't see many original Beatles copies looking this untouched. Beautiful lustre and waste wax in the spindle hole. Has clearly only seen the very lightest use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of slightest marks per side - absolutely nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. In my experience LIB is an incredibly fussy record - one of the fussiest by the Beatles.  Some tracks are hard to find playing clean even on good looking copies. But this copy is absolutely acing it across the board. It is VERY VERY clean signalled. If you are a fussy so and so on the audio side...fear not... this copy will satisfy the most ardent audiophile. The low-key tracks play superbly... LIB, Universe, For You Blue and 'Winding Road' - which is unusual to find. At worst a coupe of crackles in a couple of crackles isolated spots per side. Totally stellar for audio. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex) In super condition and the original aesthetic is beautifully preserved. Flat surfaces with barely a crease front and back. There's hardly any edge wear and the openings are sharp. Four pointy corners. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Impressive.
Inner (Vg) Light ageing, No splits.
Black inner (Vg+) Nice condition. One inch bottom edge split. Tape repaired internally and tidied up.
