Description
An original 1st press of Let It Be on the USA Apple label. Etchings 'Ronnie & Phil' + 'Bell Sound Sf' on both sides. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with the 'abkco managed' credit on the rear. Please note in the interior you can just make out the flipbacks and then the interior image is pasted over the top - this is indicative of 1st issue. The LP will come housed in an anti-static record protector.
Vinyl (Ex+) In pristine condition and has seen very very light use. Under close inspection we struggled to make out only one solitary super-light mark. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. The sealed copies are going on E-bay for a fortune - why not bag the next best thing for a fraction of the price? This is by far the nicest copy I've laid my hands on - preservation levels are breathtaking. And, in my experience, 'Let It be' is particularly hard to find in pristine condition and playing faultlessly. The original pressings really are a work of art - lovely heavy pressed and gorgeous sound quality. Interference, thankfully, is totally absent. All we detected were a couple of minor crackles at the beginning of the track 'Let It Be' and precious little else the whole way through. It is a very very clean playing record and one that would be nigh on impossible to better. FINAL UPGRADE - no sweat.
Cover (Ex+) So, everyone knows just how difficult the USA covers are to find in decent condition - they always surface with some form of visible wear. But this copy defies the odds and at 48 years of age is still looking close to factory fresh. I have never seen an unsealed copy looking quite this pristine. Front and back are borderline immaculate with only a touch of super-light handling on the rear. You just will not find a copy this well preserved other than via the sealed copy route. The interior is immaculate. Edge wear is pretty much non-existent. In fact the only vaguely visible wear is a minuscule patch at the extreme top of the sine. Otherwise the spine is fully intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and is helped by the heavy card construction. A super example and one that would be difficult to even match for preservation.
