Description
The Beatles Let It Be Part Box Set. Condition is "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class.
For sale is the original “Get Back” book from the Let It Be box set together with the original Outer Box Cover from the Set. Both are in used condition. By way of background, I was given them (with the inner tray but minus the record), back in the early 80s by a student friend who wasn’t a Beatle fan! Annoyingly, I have since lost the inner tray and I think an Apple letter/document that went with everything (?!?).
The book is complete and in very good overall condition. It contains many photographs and excerpts of dialogue from the film/album “Let it Be” which was shot during January 1969 but not released until 15 months later in April/May 1970. This particular Beatle project had been going under the working title “Get Back” before its later name change, and this probably explains why the book retains the original title rather than the LP/film’s.
As for the physical condition of the book, on the outside the laminate remains glossy and the cover intact, as is the spine, both with the odd small crease, scuff, and laminate peel here and there (please see photographs). I have noticed that there are one or two small creases to the outside bottom of a couple of the book’s pages, but that’s about it, there is no staining or foxing and the photography and dialogue remain as crisp as the day they were first published. Nonetheless, as is common with this book - a 51 year old SoftBack - the glue securing the pages is failing. Consequently, some pages are loose. However, rather than fixing myself with spine glue/spine paper, I have left for the new owner to sort as they see fit.
The outer Garrod & Lofthouse cover is also in very good overall condition, with just the odd scuff and crease here and there. It should be noted that it had been flattened in order that it could be stored with my other records, but it should easily retain its structural shape should it be reunited with an inner tray.
Please examine the photographs carefully as they form an integral part of the condition report. There is no vinyl LP to go with this part box set.
