Description
The Beatles Capitol Starline Series 6062 “Love Me Do”/“P. S. I Love You”
This is the Capitol reissue of the Tollie 1964 single, with session drummer Andy White in place of Ringo Starr (who played tambourine), recorded in 1963.
When Capitol obtained the rights to the former Vee Jay-Tollie masters, they rush released them on four green swirl Starline singles. The dead wax confirms that this copy was pressed on the West Coast and issued in October of 1965.
This copy: Belonged to a longtime Massachusetts disc jockey and collector who died in 2024 and is in a red target Starline series sleeve.
Vinyl: Looks and plays in solid VG+ condition. “Love Me Do” plays EXC. “PS” has a light scratch (see photo) that does not affect play. It has also been cleaned in an ultrasonic record cleaner.
Labels: No ink, tags or tears. There is a circular stain on the “P. S. I Love You” side which appears to be from an old sticker.
Sleeve: No side seam splits. The bottom seam has begun to split.
There are set sale and auction copies in similar condition available for considerable $$.
