Original “Disc Jockey Advance Sample Not For Sale” promotional copy of The Beatles “Love Me Do” & “P.S. I Love You” single released on Tollie Records with the “T-9008” catalog number. Tollie Records was a record label formed in February 1964, as a subsidiary label of Vee-Jay Records, specifically for The Beatles singles. The “Love Me Do” b/w “P.S. I Love You” was the second single released on the label after “Twist and Shout”. Pressed at the American Record Pressing Co. plant this edition is different from the promotional copy pressed at the Monarch, LA plant and contains a boxed “Tollie Records” logo on the label. The master used for this version of the “Love Me Do” track features not Ringo Starr on drums, but Andy White, and Ringo, in his turn, plays the tambourine. It’s quite rare to come across with an original picture sleeve of this issue in such a great condition as its paper quality and print are very susceptible to severe ring wear. Pressed at the American Record Pressing Co. plant, the vinyl of this promotional copy was mastered by AudioMatrix, Inc. containing the machine stamped “ARP” and “AudioMatrix” in the runout grooves on both sides. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - 63-3188 AudioMatrix ARP RA; Side 2 - 63-3189 AudioMatrix ARP RA.

The picture sleeve of this very rare promotional issue is graded as somewhere between strong Very Good Plus and Excellent Minus. It retains its beautiful colors only having some very light shelf wear on both sides. However, it doesn't have any splits, tears, missing pieces, writing or residue. The vinyl is graded as Very Good with its audio being Excellent Minus. It contains some light surface marks and hairlines as well as some scuffs from the picture sleeve. The white promotional labels are super clean and in Excellent condition without having any spindle marks or wear, just having a minimal amount of shelf wear. The vinyl sounds great having a warm and pleasant Mono sound only having some very light static at the very beginning and the end of each side which most likely will go away if the record was cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
