Item Description/Condition
Featured here is an original first issue of this SCARCE AND BRIEFLY ISSUED Original 1976 UK FIRST ISSUE Vinyl LP for The Beatles UK Parlophone release, MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR, featuring tracks taken from The Beatles TV film Magical Mystery Tour.
Released in the UK 19th November 1976, this is the first time that Magical Mystery Tour LP was released in the UK. For reasons unknown, EMI did not advertise this FIRST ISSUE UK Parlophone LP in any way at the time. Consequently it did not sell very well, and failed to chart at the time, making it sought after now, due to its BRIEF release.
The Stereo Vinyl LP is on the official Black & Silver Parlophone Label, with ‘Mfd in the UK by EMI Records’ label rim, printed to both sides of the record labels.
Both record labels are in SUPERB Near Mint condition – a clean set of UNDAMAGED, UNFADED record labels, with only a few signs of play around the centre spindle holes.
The Side 1 matrix: YEX 959-1 and side 2 matrix: YEX 960-1.
Side 1 stampers: 1O, Additionally in the trail out groove are the letters HTM. Side 2 stampers: 1 G, also with the letters HTM.
Both sides of the Vinyl disc are in superb Near Mint condition, all that is visible are a couple of very faint surface hairlines, otherwise a beautiful vinyl disc.
Play Quality:
The album plays with, perfect sound quality.
The LP comes in its ORIGINAL Made in Great Britain white inner bag, The bag is in Excellent Plus condition, NO seam splits, just a hint of inevitable mild record indentation.
The album is protected in its ORIGINAL UK First Issue GATEFOLD sleeve, incorporating a very nice 24 page booklet, stapled within the Gatefold Sleeve. The booklet contains colour photographs and cartoons images taken from the Magical Mystery Tour film. The lyrics to each of the five songs that were featured in the film, are printed on the inside of the back cover of the gatefold sleeve.
The Gatefold sleeve is a very nice example in Excellent to Excellent Plus condition, showing a couple of mild corner bumps, and light age spotting to the inner gatefold part of the sleeve. The spine edge and other edges are undamaged. The 24 page booklet is in Near Mint condition, NO loose pages, NO tearing, NO creasing or handwriting to any of the pages.
A very nice example of this UK first issue Original UK Beatles album, in superb condition.
