Description
US copy of Magical Mystery Tour pressed in 1976. This version with the orange label is actually thought to be rarer as it was only used for a short period, most people snapping up the earlier pressings.
Side 1 has SMAL-1-2835-F34 #1, MASTERED BY CAPITOL and a —? symbol etched in the run off and side 2 has SMAL-2-2835-F34 ?-1, the —? symbol and MASTERED BY CAPITOL in the run off. The —? symbol means it was pressed at Capitol’s Winchester plant.
The sleeve, made of thicker cardboard, as was common in the US at the time, is in excellent condition. Unfortunately the 28 page booklet has come away from the sleeve but is still in excellent condition. The US booklets were glued to the inside of the gatefold so it's common with US copies that the booklet is loose (UK copies were fixed with staples through the spine).
The record itself still has a lovely shine and only has the lightest of sleeve removal marks. The last time I played it, which was some time ago, I noted that it played excellent throughout, I only noted 3 or 4 ultra feint ticks on Flying. No skips, sticks or jumps.
It is housed in an emitex style WH Smith inner
UK only please - Will be sent in record mailer with stiffeners
