Description
Beatles Magical Mystery Tour Capitol stereo pressing from 1967. Original 'rainbow' label SMAL-1-2835-A21/SMAL-2-2835-A21. This record is in lovely condition. The vinyl is glossy and black and in near mint condition. Labels are superb. The thick cardboard gatefold cover which has a matt finish and the accompanying booklet are in excellent condition. There is a bit of rubbing to spine and to rear. Nothing at all that spoils. Writing on spine is clear. Tiniest bit of damage to booklet on last page. And I mean tiny. Includes original plain white inner sleeve which has yellowed with age but is otherwise perfect.
As I'm sure anybody reading this knows 'Magical Mystery Tour' was released in the UK in 1967 as a 2 EP set which only included the show songs. Capitol records in America had an excellent idea of making up a full LP by including the stunning singles the Beatles had also released in 1967. Add Hello Goodbye, Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields to the show song set and you have one of the Beatles strongest albums imo. In fact so successful was the idea that the album is now considered part of the UK canon and was released by EMI in 1976. God bless America. Therefore it is impossible to collect a UK original pressing from 1967 of this album because it does not exist.
So go on and collect the American original and own a piece of Beatles history. Low start for this very nice record.
