DECCA'S UNIQUE 1" PRESSING RING PINCKNEYVILLE, IL PRESSING PLANT

One of the rarest and most sought-after The Beatles item, original DECCA contract pressing release of Meet the Beatles! pressed in Pinckneyville, Illinois. Due to the work overload at their pressing plants Capitol Records had to sign a contract with DECCA Records for pressing a limited amount of Meet the Beatles! copies, providing them with both, the covers and labels of the Scranton pressing plant. This is one of the copies that come across insanely rarely and contains DECCA's unique 1" pressing ring on the labels along with the Pinckneyville plant pressing's "P" identifier in the runout groove on both sides. 1st print cover remains in the original shrink wrap and is in great condition. The vinyl pressed on the verge of 1964/65 has the following matrix numbers: Side 1 - T1-2047-T32-P; Side 2 - T2-2047-T34-P. The etched "P" identifier for Pinckneyville denotes that this copy represents a very early US original DECCA contract pressing.

I grade the cover as Near Mint Minus. The vinyl is Very Good Plus having only some very light non-feelable surface hairlines and scuffs from the original blue Capitol Records inner sleeve which comes with the album and is in Near Mint Minus condition. The labels are in Near Mint Minus condition and are wear and scuff-free.
