Description

The Beatles in Mono boxed set was first issued in 2009 on compact disc in 'Mini-Lp' format (made to duplicate the original 60s UK vinyl editions) and the sources used for transfer were digital masters. 

To create the 2014 Mono vinyl edition,  Sean Magee (mastering engineer) and Steve Berkowitz (mastering supervisor) obtained the original 1/4 inch Mono master tapes for every title and using a completely analogue signal path,  created new metal "stampers" or "master lacquers" from which each one of these records were pressed.  The results are truly outstanding.  Most fans, collectors, and audiophiles agree that these "new" Mono pressings are very nearly as impressive; (while some even consider them superior) to the very first UK Mono pressings from the 60s. 

Condition: Like-New ~ New* .....also included is the much talked about, 108-page hardbound book (still sealed) detailing the whole Beatles "Mono Story" and filled with many never-before-seen photographs of the band. There is also an open-ended slipcase (2nd picture) that came with this box set and will be placed over the white box (as intended) prior to sealing the outer box for shipment.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: This boxed set was preordered by me in April 2014 and received during the very first week of release in June, 2014. It is one of the earliest pressings. Only one title ("Please Please Me) was opened for inspection and audition then placed back into the box. The rest of the titles (including the book) have NEVER been opened.  So, technically, this box set must be described as "used", but in fact, apart from one Lp which is Near Mint ~ Mint, it is essentially, NEW.

Due to the size and weight of this item, returns will not be accepted. In any case, this box set is 95% NEW and given the stringent quality control that these Lps were placed under during manufacturing, I do not forsee any problems to arise.
