SCARCE BLACK AND SILVER PARLOPHONE LABEL, REPLACED THE BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE LABEL IN 1969, RARE TITLE, IMMACULATE EXAMPLE
In 1969, for the first time since 1963, Parlophone/EMI re-designed their record labels from the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone to Black and Silver Parlophone, with a ONE EMI BOX Logo. This one EMI box logo is printed to the bottom portion of each record labels.
The album was issued as a SMALL BATCH only with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, encircled ‘P’ date 1963, and ‘Made in Gt Britain’ together with the ONE EMI Box to the bottom of the label. (Please note that the vinyl weight is the same to that of the earlier 1963 release. In addition, the machine stamped matrix numbers are the same as the original 1963 issue.
Both record labels are in immaculate Mint Minus condition, beautiful almost as new labels with the exception of just one play sign on each label.
Both sides of the vinyl LP are in immaculate as new Mint condition – flawless vinyl surfaces to both sides, simply perfect.
Side 1 Matrix is: YEX 94-1 and side 2: YEX 95-1.
Side 1 stampers: 2 OH and Side 2: 1MP.
The LP plays through as new.
The Vinyl LP comes in it’s original EMI advertising inner record bag and is housed in its original front laminated three flipback sleeve, with small stereo wording on the front and the same artwork and style as the original 1963 release.
The Original Garrod & Lofthouse Laminated Sleeve is in beautiful Mint Minus condition, the front of the sleeve is very glossy with no fading, all edges and corners are superb, the reverse of the sleeve is clean and undamaged, showing just mild handling signs to the opening edge, and a tiny crease on the top right corner.
