Description
In this auction:
· “PLEASE PLEASE ME” LP by The Beatles
· This LP is Apple Records EAS - 80550.
· It was released in 1976.
· This is a Japanese Apple Pressing manufactured by Toshiba EMI Ltd., Japan.
· Toshiba-EMI Japan produced a series of Beatles LPs as part of its "Country Flag" OBI /EAS re-issue series of the Beatles Japanese LP catalog which began in 1976 until about 1980. Since this LP was originally a U.K. pressing, the British flag is at the top of the OBI.
· The vinyl has matrix numbers YEX-94 on Side 1 and YEX-95 on Side 2.
· This LP has 14 tracks. Please refer to the images of the labels for the listing of tracks on this LP.
· The COVER is in STRONG VG+ CONDITION. The corners are sharp, and there is no wear on the front slick. (Only light aging of the primarily white reverse slick keeps me from grading the cover Near Mint.)
· The LP was issued with an 8-PAGE BOOKLET of COLOR PHOTOS and LYRICS (in Japanese and English). This BOOKLET is INCLUDED, and it is in NEAR MINT CONDITION.
· The VINYL is NEAR MINT. There are just a couple of very light “spindle trails” on the side 2 label, but only visible at certain angles.
· I’ve always heard that the Japanese Apple Toshiba Pressings are really such high quality pressings that they are close to the quality of an audiophile pressing, and I tend to agree!
It’s a VERY NICE Japanese Pressing of this Beatles LP in GREAT CONDITION. You know how excellent the sound quality is from Japanese-pressed LPs. It’s a great addition to any vinyl collection!!
FYI: I use the COVER/SLEEVE GRADES and RECORD GRADES listed and described on page 8 of Perry Cox’s and Frank Daniels’ Price Guide for the Beatles American Records. These are: Good+ (G+), Very Good Minus (VG-), Very Good (VG), Very Good+ (VG+), Near Mint Minus or Very Good++ (NM- or VG++), Near Mint (NM), Mint Minus (M-), and Mint (M or MT) to VISUALLY grade this LP, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding.
