Description
The Beatles Please Please Me 3rd press Extra 33 1/3
The Beatles Please Please Me first Yellow & Black Mono Parlophone in very good condition.
This is the elusive proper THIRD pressing of the Mono Please Please Me.
We know this because it retains the line: XEX 94 33 1/3 (to the left of the spindle hole) from the first 2 (Gold Label) Parlophone Pressings.
This was a mistake as there was a big 33 1/3 (above the Yellow Parlophone) in the newly designed Yellow & Black label overlay. It was only after the inital run of the new label batch that were pressed, did they realise the mistake and took the extra 33 1/3 lettering off the press virtually straight away.
This is / was also the very first showing of the new Updated Parlophone Label with it's big yellow Parlophone and black on yellow £ sign and was what every teenager looked for in other peoples collections at partys during the 60's.
This Edition was replaced immediately with an identical label minus the little "Gold edition" 33 1/3.(which everyone thought uptil now was the 3rd label already!).
What we have here is the Mono 3rd label, (the Stereo 3rd label was mentioned in last Dec's copy of the Record Collector 200 Rarest Records of all time at the number 12 spot, just after the two Golds at number 11). This Mono version is listed in the new Rare Record Price Guide 2012 at a conservative £500..
These will be the next big MUST have as these are far far rarer than even the Northern Gold second pressing.
Only known to a few hard core collectors through the years, Mr Ian Shirley has now confirmed (though the above publications) what was once a fabled story of the extra 33 1/3.
It is probably the most infamous ultra rarity as far as the Beatles true UK releases are concerned and collected.
The sleeve lets this down somewhat as there is damage to the bottom flipbacks. This is the first pressed E J Day Y/B Sleeve with the Mono at the top further to the right. These can be upgraded quite easily though.
Inner is the 1st made in England Patents applied for Emitex type.
A valuable rare record, but with the world only waking up to the fact this label exists, must make this one of the very top Beatle records for desirability and collectability, and this is your one chance to invest in a sure thing before prices sky rocket.
Please see www.beatlebay.co.uk for more info on these rarites.

I am and have always considered myself a Beatlefreak and collector. I am not a dealer, but have many treasures I've collected over the years that I have now decided to part with.
