The Beatles Please Please Me Gold Mono - 1st press DJ label Type 3b

The Beatles Please Please Me 1st dick James press type 2b.

Another rarer than rare record you are ever likely to see for sale, and the only one of only 3 I've ever known of.

Featured on some websites (that I'm now not allowed to publish links to), as a 1st press Type C  , this copy was pressed on an even older machine that was typically last used in the late 50's.

The difference here, is the indented and outdented pressing rings in the middle of the label plus an outer ring. This was pressed for one run only with the mother code no's being 1 H / 1,2 GP.

Again this is in a very collectable condition with lovely looking Labels, and is by far the best of the 3 that I've seen of this version.

With a few light careless non feelable scratches on both sides, I would happily describe as Ex-/ Ex or VG++ depending on whose book you read-, and in all honesty, looks mint apart from those. It is a shame (that it is not mint lol), but at least the labels are very clear and vibrant with no rubbing to the gold leaf.

MZT tax code is just visible on side 2.

This Edition is not to be confused with the Dick James type 2a, which is the same except doesn't have the additional outer ring on side 1, and has the stamper run code of 1P / 1GG and can also be found in my listings.

Incidently, on side 2, the 1 and the G match up, and the 2 (which is slightly below the 1 and left a bit) and the P seem to match up also..

.. maybe this again was the very very first press on the second machine before they took these machines away and used the new (or usual) presses?!!?  One does wonder where these presses fitted in, but they were never used again on any beatle pressings.

Cover is a bit sad i'm afraid as I had this stored with a nice 2nd edition E J Day cover for some reason, though that's not the hard bit to collect here :)

Anyroads, considering none of you out there that collect labels have this label either, makes this auction very special indeed.

Don't miss!!
